Key Questions

What are the minimum requisites for applying?

​Participants can be either startups or early stage ventures.

The minimum requirement is having a business idea that you would like to develop and implement. It can be either an existing company or an early-stage idea you would like to transform into a real business (aspiring entrepreneurs).

How does the Application Process work?

You can apply by using the short form on this website, providing a valid e-mail address. You will receive an email with a link to a survey that you will be asked to complete.

Upon the completion of the survey, you will be invited to send a short description of your business idea (pitch).

In January, a member of our staff will contact you by phone to conduct an interview.

After completing these steps, you can be selected into the programme.

What is the content of the course?

The course will cover cutting-edge entrepreneurial tools and techniques specifically targeted for startups and early-stage ventures. 

The course is designed with a practical orientation. In each session, participants will be invited to apply the tools and knowledge learned in class to their own business, and receive feedback from the instructor and other participants.

Who Can Apply?

How many people per company/startup can join the programme?

Each member of the entrepreneurial team is eligible to participate.

I have an entrepreneurial idea, but I have not yet launched it, can I apply?

Yes. The programme will support you in developing your idea.

I still do not have a team, can I apply?

Yes, you can join the program as a solo entrepreneur or as part of a team.


Is the course free of charge?

Yes! The course is completely free of charge. There are no admission fees.

The course is part of a research project. Partecipation is subject to the availability to provide anonymised data on your experience and business in regular interviews and questionnaires.

Who is funding the project?

This project is primarily funded by research grant at Bocconi University. Some additional resources are provided by Bayes Business School.

Training Programme Details

Where is the training taking place?

The IdeaBoosterLab UK training will take place in London, at Bayes Business School (Bunhill Row, London EC1Y 8TZ, UK)

When is the training taking place? And how long is it?

The training will start towards the end of February 2022. it will include 7 training sessions, that will take place on specific dates, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.:

Due to logistical reasons, these dates are potentially subjected to minor changes and it won't be possible to choose one stream or the other. 

After the first 7 core sessions, participants will be invited to exclusive monthly events and to a final demo-day.

Will the training be held face to face?

At the moment, the training is scheduled to be held face to face at Bayes Business School. However, we will follow the Government guidelines to ensure the safety measures are respected, in line with the pandemic situation.

Is it compulsory to attend all sessions?

Participation to all sessions is strongly encouraged for making the most out of the programme. However, participants are required to attend at least 6 out of the 7 core sessions. Only participants who respect this requirement and make themselves available for the regular interviews with the team will have access to the full course materials, receive invitations to the exclusive monthly events and the final demo-day and receive the official certificate of course participation.

What is the class size?

To ensure a high-quality learning experience and participants will be divided into small classes of 20-30 firms/entrepreneurs.

Each participant will have many opportunities to interact, learn from peer’s experience and get individual feedback from the instructor.

Special events will be organized into larger groups to give attendees the opportunity to network more broadly

Who will be my instructor?

All instructors have substantial expertise in business training and coaching, especially to start-ups and SMEs. They all have a dynamic and interactive approach to teaching.

Who developed the training material?

The training material has been developed jointly by academics from Bocconi University and Bayes Business School, who are international experts in the field of management, entrepreneurship and strategy.

What is the structure of each session?

In each session, the instructor will deliver valuable tools that will support strategic and operational decision making in many areas, especially when it comes to strategic and innovative plans. The same tools can be used to start the development of a start-up.

Importantly, plenty of time in each session will be devoted to interactive discussions of small cases and the application of ideas to your business, following participant-centered learning methodology.

Do I get any certificate for participation?

Yes! You will get an official certificate of participation at the end of the year, if you attend at least 6 of the 7 core sessions and engage in regular interviews with a member of the team.

What happens at the exclusive "Monthly Events"?

We will regularly organize exclusive monthly events, including webinars, workshops and network events that will focus on the most relevant managerial content and allow you to grow your professional network.

We will cover topics of interest to entrepreneurs and managers, featuring international speakers from both academia and managerial world.

Data and Privacy

Will I be asked to share confidential information with other participants?

No. Each participant will decide on the extent to which they wish to participate in the class discussion and whether they want to keep a more active or passive role. Each participant will decide which information he/she is comfortable sharing with the class.

We encourage you NOT to share any confidential information with your peers, which is certainly something NOT required in order to participate and make the most out of the business programme.

Why do I need to provide data?

During the course of the programme, you will be asked to engage in regular interviews with a member of our team.

First, by having a better understanding of your business background, we will be able to better tailor the content of the programme to your specific needs and provide a better learning experience.

Second, IdeaBoosterLab is made possible with the funding of a large research project conducted by Bocconi University and Bayes Business School. Bocconi and Bayes will use the aggregated and anonymised data to conduct some general research. The aim of the research is to understand how entrepreneurship and innovation training can help firms grow and achieve their business goals. Engaging in these monthly interviews is an essential requirement for participating in the programme.

We understand that filling in questionnaires or participating to interviews might be time consuming, but this information is essential to provide you with a free and high-quality programme, and we very much hope that the programme will be a good return for your time. 

How will my data be used?

All data collected in the context of this project will be used exclusively in anonymised and aggregate form, and solely for academic research purposes and in the public interest.

None of your data will be shared with other parties except the academic ones directly involved in the project and in the full research project.

Data will be encrypted and stored on our (restricted-access) IT infrastructure.

The academic institutions involved in this project adopt the highest research ethics standards for managing and protecting data, which is a core part of their regular activities. Their outstanding reputation in the research domain speaks for their commitment to ensure that data will only be used to gather general insights on the quality of the programme delivered for academic research purposes and in compliance with Data Protection Act and European GDPR regulations and for no other purpose.
